This one CD contains the index only to passports for the dates 27 October 1855-14 May 1859. The data on each person normally includes their full name, their Gemeinde, their current residence, age, occupation, the place they are travelling to, the period of time they expect to be gone (as you might expect, many emigrants said they were going only for one year), and the names, ages and relationship of the people with whom they are travelling.
This is an absolute gold mine for 19th century Swiss Research!
