Gorham was settled moderately early for a Maine town, in 1736. The town is located in Cumberland County, ten miles West of Portland. It was originally called Narragansett No. 7 and afterwards called Gorhamtown in honor of Capt. John Gorham. Gorham was incorporated in 1764. The township was granted to the soldiers who served in King Philip’s war in 1728.
Picton Press now brings you all three of these rare and early Gorham town histories, on a single CD.
