The Vestry Book is primarily an accounting of the parish revenue; the Minister's salary, the payment of the Clerks, the cost of the upkeep of the churches and the care of the poor. Payment was made for everything done for the church with the names of the individuals paid recorded.
The Anglican Church was the established church until about 1819 when Hungar's Parish was revived as a part of the Protestant Episcopal Church. Beginning in 1868, baptisms, funerals and marriages are recorded. There also is a list of communicants.
