Although it has not been possible to determine positively whether George Ward of Eastham, Massachusetts was the progenitor of this particular Ward family, he has been treated as such in this book. He settled in the north part of town (Eastham, now Wellfleet) in about 1700 and there were several who ventured farther away into the then wilderness areas of Maine and New hampshire. The lines of many of descendants have been brought down to the present day.
Along with the Ward descendants, Linton Ward has also briefly touched upon the ancestral lines of some of the allied families such as the Doane, Hanscom, and Newcomb families.
Also found in the appendices of the book will be information regarding other members of the Ward family and their involvement in
America's military history. Also included are several tables of early Ward settlers, Wards in passenger lists, Wards found in varius census
records and vital records plus many whose family connections are as yet unidentified.
This book is 6" x 9" in size, is smythe sewn and case bound and contains a total of 272 pages of text, including several photographs.
The book also has an Every-Name Index of 5,809 names to aid in locating individuals throughout the book. Smythe sewn and hard cover.
