The Rev. Weiser has provides us with yet another excellent research tool! The church of St. Matthew's in Hanover,York Co., Pennsylvania claims a long history from its beginnings in 1735 through formal organization in the early 1740s until today.
The church records begin in 1743 but include a series of baptisms for the two prior years and continue with some interruptions (especially 1744-1753 when the church was between pastors) until 1831. These are among the most important sources for the history of the area and the genealogy of its inhabitants.
