He has worked from the application files of the Society of the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, together with the massive manuscript compiled by Frank W. Leach almost one hundred years ago, and many other published sources.
This first volume covers the descendants of the 14 Signers from the New England states: Josiah Bartlett, William Whipple and Matthew Thornton from New Hampshire; John Hancock, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Robert Treat Paine and Elbridge Gerry from Massachusetts; Stephen Hopkins and William Ellery from Rhode Island; and Roger Sherman, Samuel Huntington, William Williams and Oliver Wolcott from Connecticut.
