This is the history, written entirely in German, of the Lutheran seminary in Hermannsburg, which provided a large number of her sons, 172 in all, as Lutheran pastors to America. Most of them served Evangelical Lutheran Churches throughout America's upper mid-west. Dr. Müller, Director of the Hermannsburg Mission since 1975 and first Director of the Evangelical-Lutheran Missionworks in Lower Saxony 1977-1988, has included concise and complete capsule biographies of each of the 172 ministers, including their wives' and children's names as well as their career histories.
While the German text will limit circulation of this book in America, readers should keep in mind that it is quite easy to use the book to follow the careers of each minister. Libraries and researchers interested in German Lutheran affairs in North America will find the book quite useful.
